Cooking with Julia – Vegan Delights – Series 1

Come and experience making a delicious and filling vegan dinner at Laurel Arts…
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to cook a vegan dinner? Many of us have friends or family who have converted to vegan diets, for any number of reasons. Maybe you have wanted to try it, but you don’t want to just nibble on carrots or celery sticks. Join Instructor Julia O’Sullivan on Tuesday, April 2 at 4:30-9pm to learn to prepare a 7-item meal with a sit-down dinner afterwards! Class takes place at 601 Georgian Place, Somerset.
You will be taken step by step through how to prepare the following menu:

Lasagna – (Makes 12 servings)
Sauteed String Beans
Tuscany Bean Soup
Tabouleh salad
Garlic Ciabatta Bread
Mixed Berries with Fresh Mint & Lemon
Cucumber Water

-Learn a bit about what food items vegans can eat to make a full course meal with plant-based alternatives to meat and dairy products, and perhaps even make a lifestyle change by knowing what kinds of things are available to buy.
-“Shop” in-house for your ingredients to cook with.
-Receive an apron and hat, a reusable shopping bag, a paring and a utility knife, a cutting board, live herb plants, and recipes to take home.
-Take part in preparing a hearty 3 course meal ‘to go’ and bake at home. Please note: you will make your very own lasagna and garlic bread to bake at home.
-Enjoy a sit-down 7 item candlelight dinner with your fellow chefs and enjoy all the culinary delights we will make.

Cost: $120 members/$150 non-members, plus $50 for supplies. $12 ages 14 and under, with adult.
