Laurel Arts Donate Banner

Please consider a tax-deductible donation to Laurel Arts to enable us to continue our work in Somerset County.

The organization was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1975, and in 1976 the Dressler family donated the property that became the Philip Dressler Center for the Arts. Thousands of people have come through our doors – for classes, exhibitions, music, Somerfest, dancing, and fun. For many folks, it has been a second home. Our roots run deep in Somerset County.

As we reflect on our roots, we are also looking forward to our future. A lot has changed in the past forty years and our board has been working hard to craft a vision of what Laurel Arts could and should mean to the community in the coming decade. We believe that the arts can be a transformative vehicle for community development and engagement. We have big dreams that we think will create a synergy with other local organizations. We intend to do a better job of measuring and tracking our impact and to be good stewards of our resources. We want to reach out into the county to better engage outlying members. We’re committed to providing exemplary service to our customers and to being good neighbors in the community.

Like any 40-year-old, we’re showing our age. We need to get into better shape – physically and financially – so that we can thrive well into our next half-century. To achieve our dreams, we need your partnership. Please review the pages that follow. In them, you will find opportunities to assist us in our goals. We also can help you spread the word about your philanthropic engagement and how you value the arts.

Laurel Arts is blessed to be in a community that has supported the arts for over 40 years. We have relied on the support of many generous businesses and individuals and we are so grateful to all of them for enabling us to do what we do. If we can do more for you, please let us know.
