In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to host an opening reception as we normally would so we figured the next best thing would be to have a virtual show. You can still visit our gallery to see everything in person if you prefer. We are open Monday – Thursday from noon until 6:00 p.m. or by appointment. Please note that face coverings are required.

Christopher Boring & Bridget Mayak

This exhibit features works that display craftsmanship, creativity, and skills conveying the beauty of everyday objects in nature.

Mr. Boring is a Pittsburgh based artist and graduated from Edinboro University of PA with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art with a concentration in Drawing and a minor in Painting. His artistic focus has been concentrated on organic objects and scenes with connections to nature, people, legacy, and the beautiful mundane. His work is done in a traditional direct observational style, but with a contemporary twist on concept.

Mrs. Mayak is a local artist and  holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which is where she first developed her love of pottery and sculpture. Bridget taught art for 40 years in the Somerset Area School District, touching the lives of over 8000 students!  Her clay work consists predominantly of functional pottery and whimsical clay sculpture.  Her metal sculptures are assembled from found objects and scrap steel.  She also combines the two media in specialty pieces and garden totems.

This exhibit will be on display from  May 11 through June 10, 2021.
