Students will choose from a variety of flowers that are already pressed and place them inside a hanging glass panel. SUMMARY:Easter Fun Day Camp
DESCRIPTION:This is a year round camp designed for ages 4-5 alone and 3 & under accompanied by an adult. The class would also be suitable for homeschooled children up to 3rd grade. SUMMARY:Mosaics Workshop for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Mosaics for Beginners is a class for those who are interested in learning how to create art by mortaring or gluing pieces of tesserae (material) onto another object or stubstrate. We will\ndiscuss what “mosaics” are and view many different styles and methods of mosaics. Students will be introduced to the classic mosaic hammer and hardie in order to cut local materials such as sandstone\, limestone\, and coal as well as reclaimed materials such as pottery and glass. Students will also learn to use tile snips as well as glass snips. Students will even be introduced to imported Italian smalti glass that is seen on cathedrals throughout the world. The class will cover how to mix mortar and epoxy\, how to build a substate\, and how to apply tesserae in\nflowing lines of andamento (movement).\nClass takes place for 8 weeks on Wednesdays; March 6\, 13\, 20\, 27\, April 3\, 10\, 17\, 24 at 6pm to 8pm at 601 Georgian Place\, Somerset.\nThe cost for the workshop is $96 nonmembers/$76.80 members plus a $25 materials fee payable to Laurel Arts.\nPre-registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Laurel Arts and Instructor Elizabeth Miller will be offering cooking classes on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 2pm to 4pm\, in collaboration with the SOCO Farmers Market. Each class will feature ingredients from one or more vendors.\n\nThe Garden Grill takes place on Saturday\, July 13 at 2pm to 4pm at 601 Georgian Place\, Somerset.\n\nThe class will include how to build your own kabobs using local meats and vegetables and how to prepare them on the grill.
