SUMMARY:Winter Fun Day Camp
DESCRIPTION:This is a year round camp designed for ages 4-5 alone and 3 & under accompanied by an adult. The class would also be suitable for homeschooled children up to 3rd grade. The sessions include crafts\, games\, recipes\, and storytime. Classes will run Wednesday mornings 10am to Noon. The cost per month is $40 nonmembers/$32 members and includes 3 sessions. Preregistration is required seven days before the first session of each month. Call/text 814-442-6217 to register.\nCamps take place at 601 Georgian Place\, Somerset.\n\nJanuary 10\, 17\, 24 – Winter Fun\nCome “chill out” with us this month as we learn about all things winter. We’ll talk about animals and hibernation and experiment with freezing and melting. Of course\, we will also find some creative ways to craft snowmen. We will have snow much fun!

SUMMARY:Learn to Knit - 2 Week Session
DESCRIPTION:Would you like to learn to knit but the idea of working with 2 needles intimidates you? Join Instructor Mary Miller and learn the basics by making a simple washcloth. Discover what “knit 1\, purl 2” is all about! This 2 part class will teach you the techniques of casting on\, knit\, purl\, and binding or casting off.\nClass takes place on Tuesday\, January 16 & 23  at 6:30pm to 8:30pm at 601 Georgian Place\, Somerset.\nThe cost for the class is $35 nonmembers/$28 members plus a $10 materials fee (includes needles and a ball of cotton yarn large enough to make 2 washcloths). Preregistration is required. Our new payment policy requires students to pay 50% of the total tuition and materials upon registration. This is non-refundable. SUMMARY:Yule Log Cakes
DESCRIPTION:Instructor Elizabeth Miller will teach students how to create a traditional Yule Log Cake. These cakes date back to the 1600s when families would burn the real log on Christmas Eve to symbolize the coming of the new year and for good luck. They were popularized in French bakeries during the 19th century where they got their other common name\, Bûche de Noël. Students will mix\, bake\, roll\, and decorate their cake in a whimsical woodland theme for winter. The cake is a chocolate sponge cake flavor.\nThe class takes place on Sunday\, January 21 at 2pm to 4pm at 601 Georgian Place\, Somerset.\nThe cost is $25 nonmembers/ $20 members payable to Laurel Arts plus a $15 materials fee payable to Marsha Schmuck.
