SUMMARY:Painted Garden Posts
DESCRIPTION:Join Instructor Marsha Schmuck for the evening to craft this creative piece for your garden or walkway. Garden posts will be made from a six-foot 4″ x 4″ treated post. All of the paints and brushes will be provided. Those attending the classes can paint any design on their post that they desire. The possibilities are endless! Scenes can range from flowers and butterflies\, bikers\, automobiles\, farm scenes\, sports scenes\, your house number and name\, etc. Feel free to browse the internet before the class for ideas. A post cap solar light will be provided for the top.\nThis class is designed for teens through adult but younger painters can take part if accompanied by a helper adult.\nClass takes place on Thursday\, April 28 and Thursday\, May 5 at 5:30pm to 8:30pm. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to have Barb Cass of Barb’s Country Creations back with another beautiful piece! She will be teaching students how to create an amazing patriotic wreath similar to the one pictured.\nBarb arranges and sells handcrafted wreaths\, swags\, and centerpieces. She will walk participants step by step through creating the piece similar to the one pictured. The wreath is made up of mesh and ribbon in country red\, white\, and blues with stars\, stripes\, and festive prints. The center includes a perfect sign printed with “Home of the Free Because of the Brave”. This would be a great decoration for your front door for Memorial Day or Fourth of July or as gift to someone.\nClass takes place on Sunday\, May 1 at 2pm to 4pm at 601 Georgian Place\, Somerset. SUMMARY:Wool Braided Rug Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Instructor Lisa Meyers will be offering another one of her beautiful rug making classes. This is a class that teaches a machine free\, gadget free\, ancient method of making braided rugs. Braided rugs and other homemade rugs are ultimate recycling projects. Going back to prehistory\, mankind has always recycled. These rugs\, when cared for properly\, become heirlooms. Learn all the techniques and problem solving skills needed to create a quality rug. Since this is a craft\, the skills will be developed in each student according to their needs. The “Art” part is in the selection of color combinations.\nThe first lesson is 1 hour or so to go over all the proper materials\, needles\, thread\, thimble\, scissors and a lesson on color theory to help you personalize your project. No need to bring anything unless you want to make sure it is correct. Handouts are given with each night’s lessons. This is a very important and can not be missed. There will be plenty of time for questions.\n***Please do not buy any materials ahead of this lesson. After the information session in the first week\, students will be responsible for purchasing any materials needed for the project. This is not included in the class fee.\nYou may start a 3′ X 5′ rug or a 10″ X 16″ place mat.
