DESCRIPTION:Join talented stained glass artist Dottie Borosky at Laurel Arts for another fun and productive workshop. She will walk students through the process to create their own unique stained glass piece. These are 6 week classes. A new session takes place on the following Mondays; March 1\, 8\, 15\, 22\, 29\, and April 5. Classes run from 6:30 to 8:30pm at 601 Georgian Place\, Somerset.\nClass fee is $57.60 for members; $72 for non-members. DESCRIPTION:Drop in at Laurel Arts for our all new Little Maker Mondays! During this session\, students ages 1-5 will take part in games\, science experiments\, songs\, stories\, and of course ART! Each week is different so you can come every week! No need to register…Just drop in. Students ages 1-2 must be accompanied by an adult.\n\n\n\n\nThe first Maker Monday takes place on Monday\, March 15 just in time for some St. Patrick’s Day fun! Workshops will be every Monday for 90 minutes and run from 10:00am to 11:30am.\nThe cost for each Maker Monday is $5 to help cover supply expenses.\nMeet the instructor: Classes will be taught by one of our very own dance moms\, Tami Skavang. Tami has a degree in Elementary Education. She has taught Kindergarten and Preschool in the past. Tami has 5 kids that she has homeschooled. She has taught classes in her homeschool co-op for the last 13 years in various grades. She has also been a teacher in her church\, including youth groups and Bible school. DESCRIPTION:We are so excited to have Dave Howard join us as an instructor for this stained glass class. Dave is the owner of Uncle Dave’s Art Studio in New Kensington\, PA. He is also an award winning author and illustrator of children’s books. The stained glass piece would look adorable hanging in your window. Students will choose one of the four that are pictured and will learn how to cut\, grind\, foil and solder it together. No prior stained glass experience is necessary. Students will be given step by step instructions to create a one a kind decorative piece using wax and dyes on a hollowed out\, real egg. For over 2000 years\, the art of decorating eggs has been passed down through generations. Jennifer has been creating pysanky eggs for 28 years. She actually got her start with the art form when she was 18 and took a class just like this! SUMMARY:Homemade Body Care Creations
DESCRIPTION:Join instructor Tracy Hostetter for an evening of creating assorted homemade body care items. Tracy owns a hobby farm where she raises goats and other farm animals. She enjoys using the goat’s milk to create soaps and other items. During today’s workshop she will introduce students to creating with mango butter. It is a rich natural fat derived from the seeds contained inside the pits of the mango fruit. This butter provides a multitude of benefits for the body including maintaining softness in skin and hair. Students will be guided in creating a variety of mango butter products including a foaming hand soap and several lip balms and lotion bars.
