Join Instructor Marsha Schmuck to create 2 canvases using plaster and a few paints. Students will make the plaster creations during the first class. They will return the second week for a short class to add paints and take them home that night. 

This workshop takes place on Thursday, October 2 and 9 at 5:30pm to 7:30pm at 601 Georgian Place, Somerset.

Cost: $25 nonmembers/$20 members payable to Laurel Arts plus $15 materials fee.

Students will be given large glass containers and taken step by step through how to plant and care for their terrarium. After planting, participants will choose from a variety of spooky decorations to add to their container. The best part is, after the holidays the decorations can be removed and the piece can become part of your everyday decor.

Learn how to care for a sourdough starter and bake the easiest loaf of bread (Sourdough Boule). In this class, Pam will be going over how to care for your starter and the importance of routine feedings. We will make a few loaves in class but each participant will be given their very own starter and dough to take home and bake themselves.

Also know as wood burning, this is an art form where designs are created on wood or other materials by burning into them with a heated tool.
Students will use pyrography pens to burn beautiful designs into their choose of project; a handmade charcuterie board or a hat. You can also choose your design! Draw it on at the class or send it ahead to have it drawn on for you. Projects can be taken home that day! This workshop is great for all skill levels. Please specify which project you would like when you call to register.
Charcuterie Board Class fee is payable to Laurel Arts: $50 nonmembers/$40 members plus a $25 materials fee

“Hi! I’m Casey, a local artist passionate about creating handmade art. I’m a former biologist turned artist and the owner of Samaran Selkie, my small art business dedicated to sharing the beauty of nature through creative expression. My work is inspired by my deep love for the natural world, and I enjoy sharing that passion through painting, printmaking, clay creations, and jewelry making. I have showcased my artwork at several local galleries including Laurel Arts, Bottle Works, and had my own solo art show at Composition Art and Wine. I’m excited to welcome you to this workshop and help you create your own unique piece of wearable art!”
What to Expect: Join me for a fun and creative workshop where you’ll design and paint your very own polymer clay necklace pendant! I’ll provide a variety of handmade pendants in different shapes and colors, along with paints, palettes, and tiny detail brushes. You can follow along with my guided demonstration or create your own unique artwork. After the session, I’ll varnish your finished piece to protect it and add your choice of a braided necklace cord or chain. Keychains are also available, if you prefer. Pendants will be ready for pick up the following week — A beautiful, personalized accessory made by you!
