SUMMARY:Bookbinding Workshop
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to add artist Laryssa Duncan to our line up of amazing instructors here at Laurel Arts. Laryssa has worked on book trade projects with the Somerset Historical Center. In this one-day class\, students will learn how to make a simple pamphlet binding. Bookbinding tools such as needles\, linen thread\, bone folders\, and awls will be used to construct a book that can serve as a journal or sketchbook. Students will also learn some basic book history.\n\nFeel free to bring a lunch!\n\nSaturday\, June 8 at 1pm to 5pmClass fee payable to Laurel Arts:$50 Non-members$40 Membersplus a $25 materials fee\n\nLocation: Laurel Arts at 601 Georgian Place\, Somerset.\n\nPreregistration is required. Call/Text 814-442-6217 or call Laurel Arts at 814-443-1835 to register by Saturday\, June 1. We do ask for 50% of the fees to be paid at the time of registration. We can take credit card by phone or stop in at either location to pay with cash or check.

SUMMARY:Laurel Arts Summer Cooking Series - Market Breakfast
DESCRIPTION:Laurel Arts and Instructor Elizabeth Miller will be offering cooking classes on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 2pm to 4pm\, in collaboration with the SOCO Farmers Market. Each class will feature ingredients from one or more vendors.\nThe first class takes place on Saturday\, June 8 at 2pm to 4pm at 601 Georgian Place\, Somerset.\n\nThe class will include how to make homemade Belgian waffles with strawberries and an easy way to prepare bacon. We will top it off with some delicious local maple syrup.\n\nCost: $25 nonmembers/$20 members plus a $20 materials fee all payable to Laurel Arts.\nPreregistration is required at least 1 week before each class.
