DESCRIPTION:Papercutting Pleasures\nOctober 22\, 2023; 1 – 3:30 p.m. with instructor Kathy Trexel Reed\nLocation: Laurel Arts – Philip Dressler Center for the Arts\, and home of the Guild of American Papercutters (GAP) Museum\n214 S. Harrison Avenue\, Somerset\, PA 15501\n814-443-2433\narts@laurelarts.org\n\n\nThis class is being offered in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Education Association (PAEA) and is eligible for Act 48 credits. Registration is via EventBrite\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/…/papercutting-at-laurel…\nor by calling 814-443-2433. Payment IN FULL(tuition and material fee) is required at the time of registration. Credit or debit card only. No refunds for cancellations.\n\n\nClass Description:\nIs cutting paper an art or a craft or just plain fun?\nImages of multicultural traditions\, Folk Art expressions\, and contemporary examples will help to show how Papercutting has been a chosen medium/ art form for centuries. Participants will use scissors and Xacto knives to experience cutting techniques. From 2 – 2:30 p.m. participants will be guided to the GAP Museum on the second floor\, before resuming hands-on activities. There will be optional projects to practice and take home at the end of the session.\n\n\nClass fee is: $25 for members of PAEA and Laurel Arts\n$30 for non-members of both organizations who DO NOT want Act 48 credit\n$35 for non-members of both organizations who DO want Act 48 credit\nTools will be provided for in-class activities.\nMaximum class size – 10 adults
