SUMMARY:Wool Braided Rug Making Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Instructor Lisa Meyers will be offering another one of her beautiful rug making classes! This is a class that teaches a machine free\, gadget free\, ancient method of making braided rugs. Braided rugs and other homemade rugs are ultimate recycling projects. These rugs\, when cared for properly\, become heirlooms. Learn all the techniques needed to create a quality rug.The first lesson is 1 hour or so to go over all the proper materials\, needles\, thread\, thimble\, scissors and a lesson on color theory to help you personalize your project. No need to bring anything unless you want to make sure it is correct. Handouts are given with each night’s lessons. This is a very important and can not be missed. There will be plenty of time for questions.***Please do not buy any materials ahead of this lesson. After the information session in the first week\, students will be responsible for purchasing any materials needed for the project. This is not included in the class fee.You may start a 3′ X 5′ rug or a 10″ X 16″ place mat. Either will give you the knowledge and experience to make as many rugs as your heart desires!First class takes place on Tuesday\, February 11 at 6pm to 7pm.
