SCAA Juried Show
June 26 – August 6
Open House – Friday, July 2, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This juried exhibition will showcase a wide range of artworks by regional artists using any medium they wish. Their distinctive styles and techniques will impress you with the rich diversity and artistic quality from talented individuals in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The show is also open during Somerfest weekend. |
Soundstage Outdoor Concert Series
First Friday of June, July & August
7 p.m. on the lawn stage at the Dressler Center
Pack your coolers and grab a sweatshirt. You won’t want to miss the Soundstage Summer Outdoor Concert Series scheduled for 7 p.m. the first Friday of June, July & August. Various local & regional bands will perform as host each evening, inviting other bands and band members to join them. As always, part of the evening will include an open mike for walk-on performers. It is sure to be a great jam session. Mark your calendars and plan to join us for three great musical weekends. Call Loretta, 443-1835, for additional details.
In July, we'll be getting back to our bluegrass roots with Poverty Hollow, consisting of John Larimer, Don Mulhollem, Gary Shaffer, Pam Mulhollem and Frank Cackowski. You'll want to add this evening to your 4th of July event calendar for a night of toe tapping music.
Our last concert event will be August 6 and will be hosted by Tim Roberts & Stacey Myers. They will also be inviting some other local/regional bands to join them for the evening. Tim & Stacy do a variety of acoustics sets with everything from the Eagles to Janis Joplin. (You don't want to miss Stacey's rendition of Bobby McGee). With the help of their other band friends, the night is sure to turn into a jam session you won't want to miss.
All of the Soundstage summer concerts will be held on the outdoor lawn stage at Laurel Arts (weather permitting). A $5 cover/donation is requested to help cover costs. Guests are encouraged to pack their own picnic basket for dinner and beverages. It's a great relaxed atmosphere to kick back and enjoy some music and the company of your friends.
